The way ice cream should be

Welcome to Rock Hill Creamery! We serve one-of-a-kind, hand-dipped ice cream in a one-of-a-kind town. We craft all of our ice cream using only milk, sugar, and heavy cream as our base. We don’t use any pre-made mixes. With a rotating and diverse selection of flavors, every batch is made in-house with lots of love. Having first opened in 1994, we've had a few locations over the years. We've called Shepherdstown our home since May of 2021, and are forever grateful to be a part of such a kind and wonderful community. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your support. We're happy you're here!

The History of Rock Hill Creamery

Rock Hill Creamery was first opened by Gary Miller in 1994 on his family's dairy farm on Apple Harvest Drive in Martinsburg. He's well-loved by many, and spent nearly 30 years scooping out joy to the community. He's tried to teach me, Danielle Fuhrmann, all he knows. He really did his best, but he knows A LOT. So, I do my best to carry on his legacy. We met "by accident" one day at a local intersection between Martinsburg and Shepherdstown.  No, really, we got into a car accident. It was a minor fender-bender, but it was entirely my fault. I had hit his antique Porsche 944. Gary let me scoop away the cost of the damages, and I continued to work for him even after everything was paid off. He retired after a couple more summers. Fast forward a few years, I had graduated college and was thinking of calling him up to ask if he'd let me re-open Rock Hill Creamery. After all, I missed real ice cream. Who did I run into the next day, but Gary Miller? It's all been wonderfully serendipitous. I'm forever grateful to have such an incredible friend and mentor. So, here's to good people, happy accidents, and real ice cream.
